Trapped - Hong Kong Labyrinths
Hong Kong is the city with most high-rises. These high rises done by some of the world renowned architects are beautiful “stand alone elements”. If you are looking down from the Victoria Peak You see this in its full Glory. That is the image being sold.
But as you come down from the peak, the reality starts to hit you. The Heaven from above seems take a different shape and character…the “stand alone elements” in combinations starts to create a chaotic character.. When you add the High density on to this character… the only feeling you are left out with is the feeling of being trapped in labyrinth…
A labyrinth that has been created in the Name of human Development…
Special in night time, the city is in its full glory, with all the best feature lit up .Above all the Unique sky rises that are representing human development.
As you climb down the mountain trail the “Hong Kong University” marks the edge of the mid levels. A totally different character starts to immerge. The human scale seems to be overwhelmed by the built environment which is chaotic in nature.
Trapped…Specially to an outsider like me who hasn’t experienced such density, this feeling in enhanced. It’s all in the name of development.
